"William Hale, who was kicked by a horse at L. Lendrum's ranch at Alkali creek the evening of the 14th instant, died from the effects of the blow last Saturday. Medical attendance had been procured but deceased had received fatal internal injuries. The remains were brought to Red Lodge for interment; the funeral service was conducted in the Congregational church by Rev. W. H. Watson." - Red Lodge Picket, 23 Apr 1898
