Son of John Devere & Kate Walsh; He married Elizabeth Ruth Cosby on Sept. 15, 1897 in Harrison, KY. Father of two: William C and Lucille who married Harry A. Fox in 1917 in Newport. He was still alive in 1943 when his wife died.
I have not been able to find Lucille after 1930 census.

John W Devere moved to Miami, Dade, Florida after his wife died. He lived there with his daughter, Lucille Clark (Fred, her second husband). He died in Miami on 1/2/1949.

NOTE: Daughter Lucille Fox Clark died Jan 22, 1995 in Covington, Ky. Her obit states her memorial services were held in Hollywood Florida. No mention of burial place.

John DeVere

Services for JOhn DeVere, 72, former resident of Covington, who died Sunday at Miami, Fla., will be held at the Henry Linnemann Sons Funeral Home, Covington at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

A retired distributor for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Mr. DeVere made his home for the past several years with a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Clark, Miami.

Besides his daughter, he leaves a son, William C. DeVere, Covington; two sisters, Mrs. Madelin Saner, Newport; and Mrs Frieda Hughs, Newport and two grandchildren.
