Enlisted March 28, 1777 at Raynham, Bristol, Massachusetts and served in the Massachusetts line as a Fife Major under Captain James Cooper and Colonel Gamaliel Bradford. Engaged in the battles of Stillwater, Saratoga and Monmouth. Discharged at West Point, New York on March 28, 1780.
