Charles Gerard Daley Jr., 57, of Stroudsburg, died Monday, Sept. 9, at his home. He was the husband of Frances (McCann) Daley, at home. Born in Queens, N.Y., he was the son of Eleanor (Loftus) Daley of Floral Park, N.Y., and the late Charles G. Daley Sr. A resident of the Stroudsburg area for the past six years, he previously lived in Queens, N.Y. for most of his life. While in New York, he was a fire fighter with the New York Fire Department for 20 years, retiring in 1988. In the Stroudsburg area, he worked in the maintenance department of Stroud Mall, and for Bagel Haven in Tannersville for two years. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the FDNY Retired Men's Association Inc., and the Civil Service Retired Employees Association. He was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Stroudsburg. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one daughter, Sarah Glenn of Blakeslee; three brothers, George Daley and his wife, Kathy, and Tom Daley and his wife, Patty, all of New York, and Joe Daley and his wife, Jackie, of Connecticut; three sisters, Jane Cataldi and her husband, Al, of Florida, Peggie Nardi and her husband, Leonard, and Adele Wong and her husband, Walter, all of New York; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Stroudsburg. The Rev. Father Thomas D. McLaughlin will serve as celebrant. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. Ninth St., Stroudsburg, and 9:30 a.m. until time of the service on Thursday, at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, RR 2 Box 2138, Stroudsburg, PA 18610, or VNA/Hospice of Monroe County, 502 Independence Drive, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
