Delores Darlene Albrecht was born on December 9, 1931 to Julius and Ruth (Morris) Albrecht in Aberdeen. She grew up and attended school in Columbia, SD. When Delores was in her senior year of school, her family moved to Aberdeen and she graduated from Central High School. After graduating, she worked for Northwestern Bell in Aberdeen.

On August 12, 1950, Delores married Edwin Berreth in Aberdeen. They made their home in Aberdeen. Delores was a stay-at-home mom and was a foster mom to many over the years.

Delores was a member of Aberdeen First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was active in the church where she served in the UMW, Sew and Sew Club, Stephen’s Ministry, helped with the annual rummage sale for missions, and went on numerous mission trips. Even as her health began to fail she continued to serve through her prayers. Delores enjoyed spending time reading her Bible and doing crossword puzzles.


Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; parents: Julius and Ruth; great-grandson, Eli Berreth; and her siblings: Fred Albrecht, Wayne Albrecht, Walter Albrecht, Merle Albrecht, Elmer Albrecht, Bernis Smith, and Esther Jeschke.
