Mr.Sims was born February 12,1940 in Adamsville, TX. to Edward Earnest Sims and Leona Mae Strader Sims. Mr.Sims died at his residence, Wednesday, March 23,2016 at age 76. He graduated from Texas A & M University. He worked in Farm Chemical Sales in Frisco. He married Janice Moore 09/03/1959, with this union they had three children Cindy, Mitzi and Van.
He moved to Temple from Waco in 1988. He married Rosemary Stanford Messer January 6, 1989. He worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor with the Cen Tex Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation and with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He started several Celebrate Recovery Projects in the Central Texas area. He was a member of Temple Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife Rosemary Sims of Temple, one son Van Sims and his wife Becky of Lampasas; two daughters Cindy Hoskins and her husband Tom of Austin, Mitzi Garrett and her husband Gerald of San Antonio, Rosemary's daughters Sheryl Messer of McKinney and Sheila Riggan of Temple; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.

Memorial services for "Jack" Viron Gayle Sims, of Temple will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Gary DeSalvo and Rev. Ron Winsman officiating.
