On January 24, 2016, Corinne Martin Harness Richter (nee Eye), 96, whom was born in Deer Run, W.V., the first child of Annie and Harry Eye. She graduated from Franklin High School and Mountain State Secretarial College, Parkersburg, W.V. She moved to Baltimore with her late husband James Harness in 1941 and worked at Davison Chemical for a brief time. She then worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Mechanics and Material Sciences Department at Johns Hopkins University for 27 years. Corinne valued the friendships she developed with the faculty and many of the students who came from all over the world. She was a member of St. John's of Hamilton United Methodist Church, Epiphany Lutheran Church and Towson United Methodist Church. She loved flowers, was an avid Bridge player and shared her love of the game with her many friends. She loved to cook, entertain and did her best to take care of her family and friends. She is survived by one daughter, Ann Hodge and husband Rev. F. William of Portland, CT; one step-daughter Charlotte O'Conner and husband Rick of Timonium; one granddaughter Sharon Schmidt and her husband Bud of Abington, PA. She is also survived by her siblings, Margaret Elliott of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Dorothy Humphrey, and Dr. H. Luke Eye and his wife Jane, all of Franklin, W.V. In addition to her first husband, the late James Harness to whom she was married 40 years, she was also preceded in death by her second husband, Dr. Christian Richter to whom she was married 22 years. Friends may call at the family-owned Ruck Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Rd. (Beltway exit 26), Tuesday, January 26, from 4 to 7 pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Towson United Methodist Church, 501 Hampton Lane, Towson, on Wednesday. January 27, 2016 at 11 am. Burial will immediately follow the service at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Ok , or to Pendleton Nursing Home, 68 Good Samaritan Dr., Franklin, W.V. 26807.
