Birth: Jun. 25, 1832
Death: Apr. 17, 1916

Erik Andersson was originally from the Back farm of Gimsbärke village, Amsberg parish northwest of Borlänge, and was called Back Erik. He and his wife Lisa (Elisabeth) took over a farm in his family, called Ollesgårds, in 1857 and began having their six children the following year. Erik and Lisa achieved relative prosperity during their lifetimes. One of their sons died young, another emigrated to Minnesota. Erik was assisted considerably by the two sons who stayed home, and he used to say of the elder one "Ain't it ol' Johan-Erik who's gonna hold up the big end!" Erik bought property in the Hagalund area of current urban Borlänge and built a new house and service buildings there, next to the water tower. Son Johan-Erik took over the Ollesgårds farm in Gimsbärke. Erik's family grave at Stora Tuna was eventually taken over by their eldest daughter, Johanna Bergqvist.
