Veda Lightsey Griffis, 72, of Odum, Georgia, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at her home. The Appling County, Georgia native was a retired seamstress with Ashley Manufacturing Company. She had a jolly disposition and loved to take care of her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Rufus and Agnes Griffis Lightsey.
Survivors are her husband of 50 years, Earl Griffis of Odum; daughter, Pam (Chris) Robinson of Jesup; grandchildren, Abigale Robinson and Zeke Lodge of Jesup; sister, Mattie Lou Griffis of Jesup; brothers, Ray (Mary Sue) Lightsey and Gene (Gwenell) Lightsey of Jesup, Jerry (Ruth) Lightsey and Larry (Cheryl) Lightsey of Baxley; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Griffis Cemetery, 1239 Christian Springs Church Road, Odum, GA 31555 with Elder Jerry Lightsey officiating.
The family will receive friends at 10:30 prior to service at the cemetery.
