Funeral for Della T. Smith, 99, of Mulberry, formerly of Columbus, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street, with the Rev. James Crocker officiating. calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Smith died at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug 26, 1998, at Mulberry Lutheran Village.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and she and her husband formerly operated a ferry at Burkesville, Ky.
Born in Cumberland County, Ky., May 31, 1899, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of Joe and Mary Lee Campbell Cross. She married William Mack Smith Jan. 4, 1916. He died April 4, 1973.
Surviving are sons, Herman Smith of Mulberry and Kenneth and Joseph Smith of Columbus; daughters, Ruby Cox of Clarkshills and Maxine Hammond of Scipio; a sister, Gladys Brookshire of New Castle; 37 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 40 great-great-grandchildren; and six great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five children and seven grandchildren.
