Eva Allen Anderson, 94, of Blackfoot and formerly of Thornton, Idaho passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Eva was born November 6, 1921, to Thomas P. and Agnes S. Jensen Allen. She was the ninth of 11 children. She and her husband lived the majority of their lives on the family farm south of Rexburg (Thornton), Idaho.

On December 31, 1945 she married J. Mack Anderson, they were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on November 23, 1965. She was married to her loving husband, Mack, for 64 years and raised four children. Mack preceded her in death on August 16, 2009.

Eva was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings over many years.

Eva worked at Ricks College for 20 years, where she was the Coordinator of Student Admissions. She retired in 1986.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Eva loved music and had a tremendous musical talent. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and fishing. She was committed to service and served all whom she came in contact with. She blessed the lives of others in many ways. Heaven has gotten one of it’s true angels back. Her family looks forward to the time they will see her again.

Eva is survived by her children: Neil (Sue) Anderson, of Blackfoot, Sonja (Darryll) Ervin, of Sandy, Utah, James (Christine) Anderson, of American Fork, Utah; brother, Paul Allen, of Blackfoot; sister, Grace Mowrey, of Meridian, Idaho; 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack; her daughter, Susan; one granddaughter; two great-granddaughters; her parents; and siblings, Lavon Sutton, Floyd Allen, Shirley Allen, Arvilla Smith, Afton Harker, Stanley Allen, Jessie Allen and Lois Mills.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Riverside LDS Chapel. The family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. February 22, 2016 at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home, condolences may be sent to: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
