Mozelle Bishop Brown, 89, passed away Thursday at Lee’s Longterm Care Facility. She was a lifetime resident of Wake County, spending her childhood in Cary and Morrisville, and her adult life in the Raleigh/Garner area. Mozelle was the daughter of the late Walter Howard Bishop and Mary Beulah Choplin Bishop. She enjoyed her job with Taylor Biscuit Company/Austin Foods from which she retired after 41 years of devoted service. Mozelle loved to travel and loved her family, friends, animals and small town life. For most of her adult life, she had a beloved cocker spaniel at her side. Mozelle was a devoted daughter and sister, and her family is very grateful for the loving care she provided to her father during his later years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-1:45 pm prior to the service.

Mozelle is survived by her sister, Eunice Wells of Durham; two sisters-in-law, Ada Bishop and Rose Bishop, both of Raleigh; four nieces, Joy Shioleno and husband, Leu, of Angier, Sandra Spry and husband, George, of Linwood, Jean-Nikole Wells of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Carol Wells Rabon and husband, Jerry, of Durham; two nephews, William Bishop of Mt. Olive and Rex Bishop of Raleigh; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

Mozelle was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Junius Bishop, William (Willie) Howard Bishop, Robert Owen Bishop, Irving Bishop, and James R. Bishop, as well as her former husband, Lake Wilbur Brown.

The family extends its appreciation to Mozelle’s caregivers at Lee’s Longterm Care Facility and to the hospice nurses and chaplains at Liberty Hospice.
