Daniel Bevel enlisted in the Army November 14, 1861. Serviced as Private in Co. A 54th IL Volunteer Infantry. Died at age 20 of typhoid fever at Duvalls Bluff (or Bluff City, Nevada co.) Arkansas. His mother, Frances Landreth Bevil after his death, drew a pension of $12 a month after her husband Daniel Bevil, Sr. died.
