Vrginia Louisa [Lucille] Timmons (Guard), passed away on January 29, 2016, at Country Home Health Care in Charlottesville, Indiana.

Virginia was born in [Randolph township Tippecanoe County, Indiana] Chalmers, Indiana on April 14, 1918 to the late Daniel and Bettie Guard. In 1935, Virginia graduated from Chalmers High School, wherein she served as class treasurer. On March 27, 1937, Virginia married the late Newell S. Timmons, with whom she had two sons, Glen and Donald Timmons.

Virginia is preceded in death by her son, Donald; granddaughter, Tracie S. (Timmons) East; and her Dalmatian, Queenie. Also preceding Virginia in death are her siblings, Raymound "Jack" Guard, Orval "June" Guard, Evelyn (Guard) Metcalf, Lula "Lou" (Guard) Yoder, Edna (Guard) Reid; and her half-siblings, Gladys Guard, Louise Guard, Esther Guard, and Marie Guard.

A lifelong White County resident, Virginia and her family eventually settled down in Monticello. It is in Monticello, that Virginia and Newell made a concerted effort to be active and conscientious community members. Over the course of their 62 years together, Virginia and Newell were active in both local and regional politics. Virginia was an avid card player, enjoying competitive games with friends and more playful and educational games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving Virginia is her son, Glen (Jackie) Timmons; daughter-in-law, Susan Timmons; grandchildren, Sally (Garry) Curtis, Thom (Karen) Timmons, Batina (Bobbi) Timmons, Tim (Heather) Timmons, and Bill East; great-grandchildren, Jake Timmons, Jordan (Kinsey) East, Andy Timmons, Jonathan East, Jett Sramek, Paige Timmons, Morgan Timmons, and Isadora Sramek.

A memorial service will follow at 2 P.M.. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chalmers Community Church.
