Betty Jean Clendenen Moses, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016.

Born Dec. 15, 1931, she was a native of Blount County and moved to Etowah at an early age. She lived in California until her retirement and returned to Etowah. She was a 1950 graduate of Etowah High School and was retired from Safeway.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Moses; son, Timothy Oral Moses; parents, Oral and Bessie Spradling Clendenen; and siblings and spouses, Charles Wallace and Juanita Gudenburr Clendenen, Harry Lynn Clendenen, Bernadine Clendenen Rayburn, Joyce Thompson Clendenen and Dane Gaston.

She is survived by daughter, Sally Moses Anguiano; granddaughter, Lenette Moses; grandsons, Jesse Wayne Anguiano and William Oral Anguiano; and great-grandchildren, Michael Freeman, John Carmley and Lily Carmley. She is also survived by sister, Peggy Clendenen Gaston of Etowah; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray Clendenen of Athens, Shirley Grant Clendenen of Aiken, S.C., and Clayton and Bobbie Clendenen and Charles Rayburn, all of Etowah; nephews and nieces, Charles Clendenen, Lisa Clendenen McBride, Lori Clendenen Weber, Greg Rayburn, Kamy Rayburn Gamble, Edwin Clendenen, Greta Clendenen Fanning, Gena Clendenen Boland, Geoffrey Clendenen, Ritchie Gaston, Dana Gaston Watson and Doug Clendenen; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, at Green Hill Cemetery.

There will be no formal visitation.
