Rock Hill – Mr. Ernest Floyd Roach, Jr., 88, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at his home.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Woodland United Methodist Church with Dr. Eddie Usher officiating. Entombment will be at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.
Born in York County, Mr. Roach was a son of the late Ernest Floyd Roach, Sr. and the late Lillie Costner Roach. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII and a devoted member of Woodland United Methodist Church known for his tireless and dedicated service. He was also a member of the Chancel Choir. He was a retired electrical supervisor for Winthrop University for 35 years and also served some of that time as an Auxiliary Police Officer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking but most of all raising his family.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Jacquelyn Lancaster Roach; his son, Ben Roach and his wife, Terry of Rock Hill; his brother, William T. Roach and his wife, Rayenne of Maryville, TN; and his grandson, Steven Roach of Rock Hill. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
