Mary Ann was the daughter of Andrew (1803) and Elizabeth (Dougherty) (1805) Mitchell both born in Ireland. Mary Ann married Thomas Gamble. Their children were: Margaret J. 1856 who was a teacher; Mary Ann (Miller) 1858; Hester "Hettie" (Beard)1861; Elizabeth "Lizzie" 1863; Robert J. 1866; Sarah "Sadie" (McClung) 1868; and Jessie 1873.
