George W. Boie, age 87, of Eau Claire died Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at his home.

George was born to the late George and Lillian (Green) Boie on November 13, 1918, in Cadott, Wisconsin. He was 9 years old when the family moved to Altoona and since 1930, he has lived in Eau Claire. For 3_ years he served in the U.S. Army attaining rank of master sergeant. George worked as an office manager and accountant for Lee Beverage Co. for many years. In 1960, George was married to Rose Neary, who preceded him in death on July 13 of this year. They spent many years of enjoyment with family at their cottage on Lake Wissota and later at their place in Chetek. He loved to work in his little garden, was an avid bird-watcher, and loved to play cards with his friends. George was a member of Masonic Lodge 112 of Eau Claire, Elks Lodge 402, and VFW Post 10405 of Altoona.

He is survived by his sons, Kip (Leslie) of Richfield, John of Eau Claire; daughter, Catherine (Greg) Waiflein of Long Grove, Ill.; nine grandchildren; sister, Norma Ramberg of North Carolina; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose; brother, Albert; sisters, Ruth and Helen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2006, at Christ Church Cathedral with the Very Reverend Bruce N. Gardner and the Reverend S.H. Van Gorden officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at church.

Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
