This is my mother's step-father.
A geriatrics physician, my Grandpa Bob was a very intelligent and devoutly religious man. He was also a huge Nebraska Cornhuskers fan.
He and my grandmother married in 1979. My Grandmother was only 59 when my Grand-daddy died and we were glad my Grandpa Bob was there for her in her later years.
He was a recovering alcoholic which was something he took great pride in. He quietly helped many other victims of this disease find the road to recovery.
He had dementia the last few years of my Grandmother's life and his kids put him in a special hospital on the West Coast closer to them.
I love you, Grandpa Bob. You will always have a special place in my heart.
