She was born Oct. 13, 1921 in Laneville, the daughter of Charles Stewart McElroy and Cora Virginia Pirtle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C.D. Armitage; son, Donnie Armitage; brother, Virgil McElroy; sisters, Katherine Ussery and Lucille Matthews and stepmother, Violet McElroy.
Survivors include her son, Doug Armitage of Livingston; sister, Mildred Hall of Pearland; brothers, Charles McElroy of League City, Joe McElroy of North Zulch and George McElroy of Ingram; granddaughters, Lisa Beselt of Pasadena and Karen Armitage of Seattle, Wash.; grandson, James Armitage of Portland, Ore. and great-grandson, Justin Falls of Pasadena.
