Born in Woodruff, SC, she was a daughter of the late Ellis Workman and Clara Hennett Bailey. Mrs. Rush graduated from Woodruff High School and Cecil’s Business College. She retired from Spartanburg Mental Health Clinic and Children’s and Family Services of the DSS in Laurens. After retiring, she enjoyed working in her yard, keeping house and traveling some in her younger years. She also loved keeping her grandchildren as much as she could. She loved and adored Murphy and Bailey and always said they were her breath of sunshine.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Richard Allan Rush of Laurens, SC; three sons, Richard Todd Rush and wife, Melissa Murphy Rush of Laurens, SC, Jason Allan Rush of Clinton, SC, and Jonathan Matthew Rush of Simpsonville, SC; two grandchildren, Bailey Page Rush and Richard Murphy Rush; and two nephews, Michael Ellis Bechtold and Joseph Sean Bechtold.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Dianne Bechtold; maternal grandparents, Julius and Mattie Hennett; and paternal grandparents, Earnest Luther and Lillian Estes Bailey.
