She was born in Elkton, Kentucky on December 23, 1926 to the late Matthew Lee Clifton and Betty Gardner Clifton. She was a Co-Owner of Shifflett Iron and Metal and was of the Christian faith. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin "Peanut" Shifflett, sons Thomas Wayne and Curtis Martin and grandsons, Kevin Hightower and Curtis Martin, Jr.
burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.
