NEW ALBANY - Elton Esque Roberts, 57, died 6 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2005 at his home just before the auction started. He was born Dec. 8, 1948, to Loyd Esque Roberts and Edith Christine Ashby Roberts. He was an auctioneer before becoming disabled.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel in New Albany with the Rev. Larry Harrison and the Rev. Roy Forshea officiating. Burial will be in Gerizum Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Pattie; three sons, Andrew and wife, Jennie, Kevin and Cary; his siblings, Larry and wife, Janis, Linda Henry, Danny and wife, Kathy, James Ray and wife, Rosie, Sandy and wife, Karen, Cynthia Reed and husband, James, Bradley and wife, Lynn, Benson Brown and wife, Earline; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jerry McNeely, Timmy Clifton, James McNeely and wife, Debbie, Bettie Jarvis and husband, Donnie; one granddaughter, Allie Nichols; 27 nephews and nieces; 16 great-nephews and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Beverly Clifton and his daughter Christy Nichols.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Roberts, Terry Roberts, Michael Carter, Brian Nanney, Brandon Hill, Brandon Reed, Sam Roberts and Jeremy Clifton.
