John H. Walker, aged 66, died of pneumonia at his home on route 2, Oneonta last Friday. Mr. Walker was a well known citizen of Blount County, and his passing will be regretted by his many relatives and friends. The deceased is survived by his widow, six sons, A.R. Walker, Oscar Walker, Dave Walker and Elbert Walker, of route 2, Oneonta; A.R. Walker, route 2 Oneonta and Eldridge Walker of Margaret; four daughters, Mrs. D.M. Brothers, of route 2, Oneonta; Mrs. Arthur Gunter, of route 9, Cullman; Mrs. Jack Casey, Margaret, and Misses Minnie and Vera Walker, of route 2, Oneonta; three brothers, M.S. Walker, of route 2 Oneonta and Ed and Felix Walker; three sisters, Mrs. John Green, route 2, Oneonta; Mrs. Martha Tolbert, R. 7, Steele, and Mrs. Jordan Thomas, of route 2, Oneonta. Funeral services were conducted by Revs. P.J. Jordan and E.D. Battles at Antioch Saturday, with Emmett of Oneonta directing.
