Minnie Ethel Slater, daughter of Thomas F. and Lydia Ann Slater, born
respectively in Tennessee and Osborne County Kansas. The mother was born March
14, 1855, and married June 4,1886. The Slater family later located at Oakland,
Oregon, where Mr. Slater died fighting fire in 1896. Mrs. Slater then married
Ed Smith for her second husband. They moved to Ashland where she died Sept. 17,
1928. Thomas and Lydia Slater had 5 children.
Minnie Ethel married George D. Grizzle July 1, 1907, they were the parents of
three daughters, Thelma born Dec. 19, 1909 (Mrs. Harry Latta); Faye, born May
20, 1911 (Mrs. J.T. Welch); and Helen, born Dec. 5, 1915, (Mrs. C.H. Kintgen).
Mrs. Grizzle is active in the Henley Grange and the Presbyterian Church. She
organized the Pioneer Dinner of Klamath county, she was the first Guardian of
the Job's Daughters, the local Bethel of Masonic Lodge, member of Aloha Chapter
No. 61, Order of Eastern Star and of the Phionee Schoolmates' Club.

Minnie Ethel Grizzle, 88, died Tuesday in Klamath Falls at Washburn Manor where she had been a patient since June. A native of Kansas, Mrs. Grizzle came to Klaath Falls in 1907 after her marriage to the late George D. Grizzle, businessman and one-time county judge.

Mrs. Grizzle was acitve in many community groups. In addition to those previously listed she was a member of the Klamath Falls women's Library Club, Klamath County Historical Society, Klamath Art Association, Happy Hour Club, White Shrine of Jerusalem Dorcas Circle of the Fist Presbyterian Church, Cornerstone Club of Persbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, charter member of the First Presbyterian Chuch and 50-year member of Aloha Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by daughters, Thelma Latta, Spinard, AK and Faye McElroy South Beach, son-in-law, Ralph Uran, Klamath Falls; also five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchidren and thre gret-great-grandchldren.
