Found in The State 01 April 1940: Preston (how it is spelled in the obit) Martin Dorn, 63, of 1218 Calhoun street, died at the Columbia hospital at 1:30 yesterday afternoon. He had been ill for about ten days but had been in the hospital only several hours. Mr. Dorn was born in Edgefield county, the son of Elijah and Martha Prater Dorn. He had lived in Columbia for 30 years where he was baggage master on the Southern railroad. He was retired in July 1939. Mr. Dorn is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Dorn; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond D. Woods of Staunton, Va.; three sons, Dr. Henry H. Dorn and Cecil M. Dorn of Columbia and William Prater Dorn of Greenville, N. C.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. J. P. Lowrey of Walhalla and Mrs. Willie Winged of Galivants Ferry.
