BACON, Gordon L. Gordon L. Bacon, 66, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, November 28, 2003. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be sadly missed by his wife of 44 years, Dixie A. Bacon; his children, Pam Fryer and husband Alan, Blaine Bacon and close friend, Ruthie Costello, Jeff Bacon and wife, Tammy, Grant Bacon, Susan Sawyer and husband, Tom; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his mother, Helen E. Bacon; and nine surviving brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2003 in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with military honors by the U.S. Navy. Dr. Michael Palmer will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2003 at Oakey's North Chapel (362-1237).
