A. D. Moss died on December 8, 2015 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital after a short illness. He was born on Mossy Island in Leflore County on January 6, 1934 to Benjamin George Moss and Esther Woods Moss. He grew up in Phillipston, attended Sidon School, and graduated from Morgan City High School. He attended Sunflower Junior College.

A. D. married his high school sweetheart, Hattie Lou Grissom on July 18, 1954. He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Works after 41 years of service. He was known as "Mr. Fixit" and made repairs for many people in the Greenwood and Leflore County area.

A. D. was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1961 and served Jehovah faithfully until his death. He greatly enjoyed sharing his faith with others. He served as an Elder in the Greenwood congregation.

A. D. is survived by his wife of 61 years, Hattie Lou Moss, and five children, Kay Raby (Terrell) of Del Rio,TX, Fay Gordon and Becky Kwong (Raymond) of Greenwood, Linda Holland (Roger) of Grenada, and Allen Moss, Jr. (Tina) of Gulfport. His eight grandchildren include Jason Pryor of Mobile, AL, Chris Kwong (Stephanie) of Tampa, FL, Casey Killebrew (Amy) and Amanda Anthony (Wayne) of Grenada, Claire Law (Lucas) of San Antonio, TX, Beth Gordon of Pearl, and Ashley Goss and Dustin Raby of Carrollton. His eight great-grandchildren include Caden Kwong, Aivus Kwong, Sunshine Meek, Libbie Grace Anthony, Bryce Stegall, Madelyne Anthony, Tristan Anthony, and Ansley Goss. A. D. is also survived by three siblings, Dorothy Green of Greenwood, Maurine Watkins (Joe) of Arley, AL, and Jerry Moss of Grand Rapids, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and one hour before the service on Friday.

Elder Vern Avritt will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Jason Pryor, Chris Kwong, Casey Killebrew, Paul Fitts, Lucas Law, and Wayne Anthony. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Fitts, Charles Fitts, McArthur Martin, Walter Turner, Maurice Ellis, and Timothy Johnson.
