Mary Carol Lynd, 60, of Reading passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at her home.
The funeral will be Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11:00AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Mark Vyverman from St. Charles Borromeo Church officiating. Interment will follow at Lester Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 5-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Carol was born October 24, 1955 in Coldwater, MI to Amandus Carl & Marion Lucille (Snyder) Nighswander. After graduation from Coldwater High School in 1973, she attended Kellogg Community College. On May 1, 1976, she married Donald Lynd in Coldwater. She worked at the Garden Patch in Reading from 1989 to 1995, and in 1996 she became the co-owner, alongside her husband. She previously worked at the Community Health Center of Branch County as a nurses’ aid.
Carol was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and a lifelong Branch County resident. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and gardening.
Carol is survived by her husband of 39 years, Donald L. Lynd of Reading; her children Donald A. (Tracy) Lynd of Concord, Diane (Damon) Miller of San Antonio, TX, Aaron Lynd of Scranton, PA, Timothy (Laura) Lynd of Benton Harbor and Matthew (Michelle) Lynd of Hillsdale; her siblings Robert Nighswander of Coldwater, Jerry (Angie) Nighswander of Sharon, PA, Dave (Lydia) Nighswander of Richland, and Peggy (Ewald) Heersema of East Leroy and her grandchildren Justin, Megan, Amelia, Caleb, and Jax. She was preceded in death by her parents.
