MARITAL HISTORY
1858—She married Joseph E. House in Frederick County, MD; they were the parents of 2 children together:
- Amanda Alice
- Charles Edward
1871—She married Washington Reeder; they were the parents of 1 or 2 children together:
- Samuel V
- Unknown (?)
UNKNOWN CHILD
Mary's response to the 1900 Census questions "Mother of how many children; number of those children still living?" were "2" and "1". However, she had 3 living children at the time, which includes two from her 1st marriage. Her children responses came right after she stated that the length of her current marriage was "28 years". That marriage was to 2nd husband Washington Reeder, so it seems likely that her children responses were focused just on her current marriage, which would indicate that she had lost one of two children from her 2nd and current marriage.
Please contact this memorial's manager if you can provide any additional details.
2ND HUSBAND WAS 1ST COUSIN
2nd husband Washington Reeder was Mary's first cousin; their fathers were siblings Francis and David Reeder, respectively.
