JOHN L. DELANEY Jr.
SUNDERLAND - John L. Delaney Jr. 68, World War I veteran and who had been a road commissioner in Sunderland, died Tuesday at Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington, where he had been a patient for only one day.
Born in Sunderland April 18, 1897, he was a son of John and Mabel (Bump) Delaney.
Survivors are his wife, the former Irene St. George; an uncle, Edward Delaney of West Arlington, and a nephew, Russell Delaney of Sunderland. Cousins are also left.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 pm at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Arlington with the Rev. Granville Greenwold officiating. Burial will be in Ira Allen Cemetery here.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
