Lila Lee Edwards Evans

Lila Lee Edwards Evans was born on Nov. 29, 1925 at Baileyville, Kansas to Allen Franklin Edwards and Sarah Janet Kelly Edwards. She moved to Burwell, Nebraska in 1934. She graduated from Burwell High School in 1943. Lila worked for Western Union after graduation until 1946. She then went to work for four years for the county of Scottsbluff in the welfare department. In 1958, she began working for the Gering City Schools as the secretary for the principal at Gering High School. She remained there until she retired in 1990, a total of 32 years.

On Aug. 18, 1946, Lila married Wade Evans. To this union three children were born: Diane, Monte, and Kelly.

Lila is survived by her daughter, Diane (Dana) Fuller, and Son, Monte (Kathy) Evans. Her grandchildren are Eric (Joette) Fuller, Michelle (Pete) Glassbrenner, Sarah (Josh) Christiansen, Lindsay Evans, and Luke (Amanda) Evans. Her great grandchildren are Micaiah, Makinley, Jentsyn Fuller, Carson and Kendall Glassbenner, and Averianna and Jakoby Christian. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.

Lilia was preceded in death by her son Kelly Evans, two still born babies, her parents and brothers Donald, Gail, Merl, Robert, Leonard, and Paul, her sister Beth Vasicek, nephews Billy and Mark and niece Vicki.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015 at 2 p.m., at Prairie Pines with Pastor Scott Montgomery officiating.
