Funeral for Alexander (Alec) Fletcher Spradlin, 77, retired Sweetwater grocer who died Tuesday, will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in the West Side Baptist Church.
Officiating will be the Rev. Don Reed, pastor, and the Rev. Avery Sullivan, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery under direction of Cate-Spencer Funeral Home.
Born March 11, 1881 in Roanoke, Va., Mr. Spradlin had lived in Texas since he was a child, and in Sweetwater since 1931.
Survivors include two sons, Elbert of Sweetwater, and J. D. of Lubbock; one brother, Dock of Crosbyton; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
