Lavina Lowvicy Burwell Avila Gray, age 94, passed away at The Gardens of Rigby, Wednesday, November 11, 2015.

Lavina was born June 13, 1921 in Mud Lake, Idaho a daughter to Joseph Benjamin Potter and Lowvicy Staley Potter. She grew up and attended schools in the Mud Lake and Terreton Area graduating from Roberts High School. She married Fredrick Burwell, May 21, 1929 in Lima, Montana. They later divorced. She married Alec Avila in 1952 at, Elko, Nevada, he preceded her in death. She then married Lawrence Gray in 1977 in Idaho Falls, Idaho and he preceded her in death.

She was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed gardening and had been a member of the Mud Lake Garden Club. She was a member of and served as president of the P.T.A. in Mud Lake and member of the Tops Club.

She worked as a cook for the School Lunch Program in Mud Lake for 25 years and worked as a cook at INEEL for 8 years. She enjoyed participating at the Mud Lake Sr. Citizens Center.

She is survived by two daughters: Elva (Leonard) Hall of Rigby, and Connie Linn (Dawane) Allred of Twin Falls, Idaho, 10 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Fredrick Joseph Burwell, one sister, two half-sisters, two brothers and two half-brothers and one great-great granddaughter.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com
