Dorthea was born March 24, 1921, to Derle Wilson Sr. and Ruth Bruning Wilson.
She was a homemaker and attended Hulman Street Wesleyan Church. She loved country music, especially Mickey Gilley and Johnny Cash. She enjoyed reading autobiographies, crossword puzzles, yard sales and crocheting. She took great pleasure in traveling, especially to Branson, Mo. Her family was everything to her. She was the person everyone went to for help and answers. She devoted her life to her family and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Summers; a brother and four sisters; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by four daughters, Karen Tuberosa, Beverly Gurchiek and her husband Duane, Debby Pine and Toni Summers; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews (who loved their Aunt Dorthy).
Visitation for Dorthea will be Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th St., with services beginning at 2 p.m. Pastor Dan Willis will be officiating. Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Park.
