Edward Paul Popp, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday March 15, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Frohna, Mo., son of Edgar and Florence Metz Popp. He and Retha Whittaker were married Feb. 22, 1958, in Monrovia, Calif.

He was a 1954 graduate of Perryville High School and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a member of American Legion Post 133 in Perryville, Mo., and Eagles Aerie 3775 in Cape Girardeau.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Popp was a truck driver for Rose-Con Concrete in Scott City for nearly 25 years. He had also been a supervisor at Alta Dena Dairy in Monrovia for more than 15 years.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Gary and David Popp of Cape Girardeau, Roger Popp (Monica) of Jackson; two daughters, Roxanna Weber of Altenburg, Diane Popp of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Delores Petzoldt of Perryville, Judy Sears of Arnold, Mo., Karen Martin of Frohna, Wanda Tanz of Uniontown, Mo., Dorothy Coleman of West Salem, Ill.; five grand-children; and three great-grand-children.

He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and two grandchildren.

The funeral was held at Trinity Lutheran church. Burial was at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. Graveside rites were conducted by Missouri Honor Guard and American Legion Post 133.
