Elmer S. Glick, 85, of Columbia, died on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Conestoga View after a lengthy illness. Born in the family home in Smoketown PA, he was the son of the late David B. and Barbara E. (Smoker) Glick. Elmer was the husband of Nancy (Sweikert) Glick.
He was an active member of the Bird-in-Hand Volunteer Fire Company for 50 years where he served as President (11 years), Vice-President (3 years) and Assistant Chief (3 years). He also served on its Board of Directors. Elmer was employed by the Stevens Feed Mill where he worked from 1970 until his retirement at age 71.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Robert, husband of Jane (Nye) Glick; Donna wife of Frank Howe; Connie wife of Carlos Rivera; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. His son Carl Glick preceded him in death in 2011. In addition are his step-children, Keith Sweikert; Kristie wife of Rodney Frey; Karren wife of John Wonders; Kevin Sweikert; sisters, Elsie Kauffman; Mary, wife of Robert Herr; Elma Smucker; Lena, wife of Paul Lapp and brother Daniel, husband of Eleanor Glick.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from the Wrightsville Assembly of God Church, 365 Orange St. Wrightsville PA 17368 on Thursday evening from 6:00p.m until 8:00p.m. The funeral and interment will be private for the immediate family only.
