James J. Blackerby, a retired employee of the Louisville Railway Company, now the Louisville Transit Company, died Sunday at Kentucky Baptist Hospital in Louisville. He was 81 and lived at 3216 Portland, Louisville.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lula Yager Blackerby; three daughters, Mrs. G. W. Leep, Jackson, Mississippi, Mrs. R. N. Lutes and Miss Louise Blackerby of Louisville; a sister, Mrs. J. B. Tharp, Sulphur; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Louisville. Interment was in the Sligo Cemetery.
