Mary Alford Earp, 90, passed away peacefully Friday, October 23, 2015.
She was born May 30, 1925 in Wake County to the late Maultis Alford and Lillie Taylor Alford.
Together with her late husband Herbert Eugene Earp and family they owned and operated Earp's Seafood on South Saunders Street in Raleigh for 46 years. Mary worked 6 days a week and gave back unselfishly to her community and church. She was known for her giving heart, and her customers looked forward to her homemade jellies and jams she gave them during each holiday season.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, October 26, 2015 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, NC 27545 with the Reverend W. T. Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, 27603.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Surviving: son, George Everette Earp (Vikki) of Raleigh, daughter, Nancy E. Salmon (David) of Knightdale, grandchildren, Mike Earp (Debbie), Libby Westmoreland, Dana Reason Evans (Tim), Kelly Mitchell (Nelson), Kimber Salmon (Dan), Robbie Buck (Natasha), five great-grandchildren,
as well as a host of nieces and nephews including her very special nieces Paulette Richardson and Carolyn Pulley
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her son David Earp, grandson, Matthew Earp, and nine siblings.
Special thank you to the administration, nurses, and staff of the Coventry House of Zebulon for their kindness, support, and love.
