Born in White Co TN, son of David Snodgrass and Minerva Brown Snodgrass. Married Margaret C. Williams. Enlisted in Co. D, 1st Tennessee(Colm's)in Dec. 1861. Captured at Fort Donelson on Feb. 16, 1862, and exchanged at Vicksburg, Mississippi, in Sept. 1862. Killed at Battle of Franklin, Nov. 30, 1864.
