Mrs. Christensen, 86, is Taken by Death

Mrs. Gjurtrude Christensen, 86, longtime resident of the Uehling
and Hooper vicinities, died Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs.
William Stenvers, north of Hooper. She had been in failing health
five years.

Born Jan. 29, 1872, in Denmark, she and Christen Christensen were
married in 1903 and came to this country the same year. They
settled in the Argo neighborhood southeast of Uehling. Mr.
Christensen died in 1914 and she lived in Uehling a number of years
before coming to live with her daughter 30 years ago.

Survivors are her daughters, Mrs. Stenvers, Mrs. Anna Gerhardt and
Antonie Christensen both of Omaha; brother Lars Jurgensen of
Berkeley , Calif.; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A daughter preceded her in death.

Service are to be at 2 p.m., Thursday in the Congregational Church
in Uehling. Burial well be in the West Admah Cemetery southeast of
Uehling. Wollmer & Warne Funeral Home is in charge.
