Shortly after the marriage, Ed and Luella, along with another couple who had been united in marriage at the same time in a double ceremony, moved to Carson, North Dakota, where they homesteaded. It was here that their two children, Don and Naomi, were born.
Near the end of World War I the family returned to Carroll. In 1922 the moved to Holton, Kansas, where Mr. Honey lived the remainder of his life, making a living for his family as a carpenter and mechanic. In this community he was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 34 and the First Methodist Church. He was strong and active physically and enjoyed excellent health until just the last few weeks when for the first time in his life he entered the hospital.
