Albert Douglas Burke, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, beloved father and husband went to be with Jesus on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born May 30, 1932, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Marcus Daniel and Lillie Mae Holt Burke. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Myra Gail Sisk Burke; daughters, Teresa Haulbrook of Spartanburg, SC, Lisa Horton of Wellford, SC, and Lori Sellers (Danny) of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Virl Everette of Spartanburg, SC.

He was a loving, caring, devoted, strong Christian man who loved his family beyond words. A retired veteran of the U. S. Army National Guard, Sergeant Major Burke was a State Constable for 14 years and also a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Chad Bowen. Burial with military rites by the U. S. Army National Guard Honors Team will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Albert Burke Memorial Fund, PO Drawer 1530, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
