David VanMeter, Jr., a resident of Henryetta, OK passed away on October 14, 2015 at the age of 89. David was the son of David and Bessie (Emberton) VanMeter Sr. He was born on September 12, 1926 in Dewar, OK. He worked in the coal mines, drove trucks, and did carpentry work. David was a longtime member of the American Legion. David was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn, his parents, a son Tommy VanMeter, one brother Vernon VanMeter and three sisters, Ruby Baker, Jean Johnson, and Wanda Daniel. Graveside services will be held for David on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salt Creek (Wilson) Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
