Helen Madge Gray Scott died July 21, 1996, in Oakland, Calif.

Born April 11, 1911 in Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of Martha Gray and Abner Gray. She married Edwin T. Scott on October 26, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was employed for many years in the Capitol Building in Salt Lake City as secretary to the Chief Accountant of the State Road Commission, P.G. & E. in San Francisco and also as a secretary in the California State Senate for several sessions. She later was employed as secretary to the comptroller of the San Francisco Port Authority.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Martha Jane Scott Hall, her son-in-law, Alan Hall; loving grandma to Kate Helen Hall, Lindsay Ann Hall, Kirsten Hall Poelman, Ann-Marie Hall Binkerd and David Hall. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Nick and Shannon Gray. Preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles and Brandt Gray.

Graveside funeral service will by 1 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 1996 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South. Funeral directors: Evans & Early.
