Obituary: Anna Chaney
Anna Chaney, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Stastny) Stejskal, was born at Wilber, Nebraska, on Febuary 25, 1887, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, on January 5, 1995, at the age of 107 years, 10 months, and 10 days.
She grew up and attended school in Saline County.
On October 21, 1909, she was united in marriage to Conrad Most in Fillmore County. They farmed in Fillmore County until his death in 1918. On December 21, 1920, she married Elijah Chaney at Fairbury, Nebraska. They farmed in the Giltner and Trumbull area, and later moved to Aurora. Following his death in 1955, she moved to Giltner, where she lived by herself in her own home until 1992, when she entered a nursing home in Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 3 sons, Albert Harry Chaney, Louie Most and Leonard Most; one daughter Wilma Most; 8 brothers and sisters, a step-daughter Esther Widenkeller, a grandson Junior Most, 2 step-grandsons Richard and Fred Dreher; and a great grand daughter Jo Anna Bush.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her daughter Erma Marie Williamson of Fremont; a step-dauther Josephine Dreher of Aurora; a daughter-in-law Bessie Most of Giltner; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and one great great great grandchild, and nieces and nephews.
