Joel Damon Brewer
Joel Damon Brewer, 52, departed this life peacefully on September 20, 2015, after a long and difficult illness. Born August 21, 1963, on Midway Island, he spent his early years as part of a Navy family traveling the country before moving to Pensacola in 1978. Joel went to Escambia High School, where he graduated in 1982. Upon graduation, he attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, where he made his home after college for a number of years. He returned to Pensacola in 2005 to be close to his family and, since returning, was a faithful member of the Warrington Church of Christ and then the New Testament Fellowship Church. He is survived by his daughter, Madilyn Faith Brewer, stepdaughter, Teagan Swain, father, Joe Robert Brewer (Barbara), brothers Kevin Brewer and John Brewer (April), stepsiblings, Rebecca Fagan and David Fagan, nephews Thomas, Joseph, Benjamin, and Daniel Brewer and niece Afton Fagan.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Robbie Rankin Brewer and niece, Rhiannon Brewer. Throughout his ordeals, Joel never lost his faith in the Lord and will be greatly missed by his church families and many friends.
Visitation will be Monday, September 28th at Watters & Hibbert funeral home in Pensacola, at 9:00 with funeral to follow at 10:00. Serving as Pall Bearers: Kevin Brewer, Harvey Mack, Quentin Trumpore, David Fagan, Steve Liechty and Brian Liechty. Interment following at Holy Cross cemetery.
