DREMELY Joseph, 85, Conemaugh, “Uncle Joe” didn’t go to be with God. He has been in partnership with Jesus since he was baptized as an infant, but rather, he simply went home. Born December 27, 1929 in Conemaugh, son of Frank and Anna (Strasizar) Dremely. Preceded in death by parents; step father, William Hornick; brothers, Rudolph, Victor, and Frank, Jr., Dremely, and William Hornick, Jr.; and sisters, Josephine, Mary Coy, Margaret Cassick, Shirley Yingling, and Joan Reese. Survived by sister Helen Diehl, Bangor, PA; and cousins, nieces and nephews by the gross, and each one was his favorite. Uncle Joe was the best baby sitter, that the family ever had. He was a member of Church of the Transfiguration, where he served as lector, Eucharistic minister, and altar server. He was active with the Boy Scouts and served as assistant Scout Master. Joe enjoyed watching the old Saturday afternoon westerns. He was recognized by the American Red Cross, for numerous pints of blood that he donated. He would always do his best to greet anyone. He was a retired brick layer from Bethlehem Steel Corp., and a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday at Henderson-Makuchan Funeral Home, 434 First St. Conemaugh, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 10:30am at Church of the Transfiguration, Rev Robert Hall, celebrant. Those attending the mass are asked to please meet at the church. Committal, Sacred Heart Cemetery, where military rite will be conducted by Chas Menoher Post 155VFW ritual team.
