Shiflett Services To be Held Friday
CEDARTOWN – Robert L. Shiflett, 59, of 324 Prior St., Cedartown, died Wednesday afternoon in a Cedartown hospital after a sudden illness.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, a mason, member of Calendonia Lodge 121 and a mechanic for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Cedartown.
He was born July 17, 1904 in Floyd County but had lived in Cedartown for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Mrs. Susie Shiflett of Rockmart; one sister, Mrs. Gus Zuker of Rockmart; three brothers, Frank and Willie Shiflett both of Cedartown and Houston Shiflett of Powder Springs.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p. m. in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Hugh L. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Northview cemetery. The body was taken to the residence to lie in state until the hour of service. Olin Gammage Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
