Mary E. Clark, 89, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005. Mary was born in Perry County, Ind., Sept. 6, 1916, to George S. and Nancy A. Elder Ewing. She came to Mansfield with her family in 1928, graduating from Mansfield Senior High School in 1932. Mary Ewing Clark graduated from St. Vincent Charity Hospital School of Nursing of the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland in 1941. Mary earned a graduate nursing scholarship to the Graduate School of Public Health at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, graduating in 1943. Mary worked as a registered nurse in industry and then with her husband, John J. Clark, M.D., in private practice. Mary is much beloved by her husband and their five children. Mary Ewing Clark will never be forgotten as a wonderful wife, mother, and person with many talents by her family. Mary was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Dr. John J. Clark; four sons, John F. Clark, Roger J. Clark, Gregory A. Clark, George E. Clark, all of Mansfield; daughter, Mary Lou Clark of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Georgia Dalton and Margorie Barnett. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held at Herlihy-Tinsman Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West, on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Tony Borgia officiating. Interment will be in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
